Surgery Day – June 17th – You, Me and Benny

It’s officially surgery day – or surgery day night – and it’s been a wild one BUT we got through it and we’re golden.
Thankfully!

This morning we got up early and got ready to go – as you can see Benny was comfy in the back of the Jeep on his bed and with his favorite worm toy.
Happy happy boy!
My stepmom went with me today – THANK YOU ANITA – and I think that kept me from crying all morning long.
Did I cry before we even left the house?
YEP!
But thankfully she kept me occupied and busy after we dropped Benny off and I didn’t sit and worry and cry all morning – that’s a major win!

After what felt like a MILLION YEARS they called me to tell me Benny did great!
It took a little longer than expected because apparently Benny has strong bones LOL but that’s a good thing I think!
So I went to pick him up at 4 and we came home!

I originally wasn’t going to pick Benny up after surgery – when you have surgery at our vet you get one free night to board and we were going to do that – but I just couldn’t do it!
I wanted him home with us and we’re glad we did that because he’s comfortable now and doing just fine!
I don’t know how I would have slept or functioned without him here!

He got up on the couch for a while but it seemed like he wasn’t comfortable.
We let him eat dinner and took his cone off for some relaxing time and now he’s sleeping in his kennel with his bed and his worm and he’s comfy as can be!
