EVERYBODY REMAIN CALM.
IT’S OFFICIALLY HALLOWEEN WEEK!!!
Actually, don’t remain calm. Because I am absolutely NOT calm. π
We have finally made it to the most wonderful time of the year, and I am so ridiculously excited.
Some people get this excited about Christmas. Some people count down the days until summer vacation.
Me?
I’ve basically been waiting for Halloween since November 1st of last year.
And now it’s HERE.
Well, almost. But close enough.
THIS IS MY SUPER BOWL. π
π€ I’ve Been Preparing for This All Year
Let’s be serious for a second.
Halloween isn’t just a holiday to me. It’s practically a personality trait.
I love the decorations. The costumes. The horror movies. The pumpkins. The spooky little trinkets that I absolutely do not need but somehow end up buying anyway.
And don’t even get me started on the Halloween shopping.
Do I need another ghost?
No.
Am I going to buy another ghost?
Absolutely. Mind your business. ππ»
I spend months looking forward to this time of year, and now that it’s finally here, I want to soak up every single second of it.
Because we all know how this works.
You wait ALL YEAR for Halloween, and then suddenly it’s November 1st and you’re standing there wondering what happened.
RUDE.
π The Halloween Spirit Is ALIVE
There’s just something about Halloween week that feels different.
Maybe it’s the decorations everywhere.
Maybe it’s the scary movies playing constantly.
Maybe it’s seeing everyone getting their costumes ready and making plans.
Or maybe it’s just the fact that I can fully embrace my spooky little self without anyone questioning it.
Not that I really stop being spooky the other eleven months of the year.
But this week?
THIS IS MY TIME TO SHINE. ππ€
I love seeing people get excited about Halloween. I love the creativity, the costumes, the decorations, and the fact that everyone gets to be a little weird for a day.
And honestly, I think the world could use a little more of that.
π» Give Me ALL the Spooky Things
If it involves Halloween, I’m interested.
Scary movies? Yes.
Haunted attractions? Absolutely.
Pumpkin patches? Obviously.
Witches, ghosts, skeletons, and creepy decorations?
YES. YES. YES. AND YES.
I want the cozy evenings, the Halloween candy, the spooky music, and the excuse to wear whatever witchy outfit I feel like wearing.
I want to enjoy all the little things that make this season so special to me.
Even if that means sitting at home in my Halloween pajamas watching a horror movie for the 47th time.
That’s called tradition. π
πββ¬ Even the Animals Are Part of It
Of course, Halloween at our house wouldn’t be complete without our little zoo.
Benny and Cash are probably just hoping Halloween involves snacks.
Falcor is perfectly content being his fluffy little self.
Goose is probably somewhere getting into something he shouldn’t.
And Draco?
Well, Draco is a black cat.
He was literally BORN for this holiday. πββ¬π€
I mean, how many people can say they have their very own Halloween decoration walking around the house year-round?
Although I’m pretty sure Draco would prefer to be referred to as a familiar rather than a decoration.
And honestly, fair enough.
π I Just Want to Enjoy It
Life has been a lot lately.
There’s been stress, responsibilities, worries, and plenty of things that haven’t exactly gone according to plan.
And sometimes it’s hard to get excited about things when you have so much on your mind.
But Halloween is one of those things that genuinely makes me happy.
It’s something I look forward to.
Something that reminds me to have fun, be a little ridiculous, and enjoy the things I love.
And this week, I really want to focus on that.
I don’t want to spend the entire week worrying about everything I need to do.
I don’t want to rush through it.
I just want to enjoy my favorite time of year.
Because sometimes you need a little happiness wherever you can find it.
And if mine comes in the form of pumpkins, witches, black cats, and scary movies?
SO BE IT. ππ
π€ But Seriously… How Is It Almost Over?!
Okay, here’s the part I don’t like.
The fact that Halloween week means Halloween is almost here ALSO means it’s almost over.
And I’m not emotionally prepared for that conversation.
Can we just have one more month?
Maybe two?
Would anyone really complain if October lasted 90 days?
I certainly wouldn’t.
Because once Halloween is over, everyone starts moving on to Christmas, and I’m still emotionally attached to my pumpkins.
Don’t get me wrong. I love the holidays.
But can we PLEASE let Halloween have its moment before we start blasting Christmas music?
I’m begging. π
π Happy Halloween Week, My Fellow Spooky People!
If you’re someone who loves Halloween as much as I do, THIS IS OUR WEEK!
Wear the spooky clothes.
Watch the scary movies.
Eat the candy.
Carve the pumpkins.
Take the pictures.
Enjoy the costumes.
And most importantly, have FUN.
Life is too short not to get excited about the things that make you happy.
Even if those things are a little weird, a little creepy, or involve an unreasonable number of decorative skeletons.
And if Halloween isn’t your thing?
That’s okay, too.
I’ll just be over here making up for your lack of enthusiasm. π
HAPPY HALLOWEEN WEEK!!! ππ»π€
May your coffee be strong, your pumpkins be spooky, your horror movies be terrifying, and your Halloween candy somehow last longer than three days.
And remember…
Life is hard. Buy the tiny ghost. π»π
