Falling Into Better Habits This Season

There’s something about fall that always feels like a fresh start to me. Maybe it’s the cooler weather or the way the leaves remind us that change can be beautiful, but this time of year always makes me reflect on how far I’ve come and where I want to go next.

If you’ve been following my journey, you know I’ve lost 68 pounds over the past few years. It hasn’t been easy, and it definitely hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been worth it. Somewhere between the walks, the small food swaps, and the days when I had to remind myself why I started, I found a stronger version of me. And I love her.

Now, as Fall rolls in, I’m using that same mindset to keep building better habits, not just for my body, but for my mind and heart too.

This season, I’m focusing on:

  • Moving with intention. Whether it’s a workout or a walk with Benny, I’m reminding myself that every bit counts.
  • Choosing progress over perfection. Some days are better than others, and that’s okay.
  • Finding joy in simple things. Cozy nights, a cup of tea, and being proud of how far I’ve come.
  • Letting go of what no longer serves me. Just like the trees let go of their leaves, I’m learning to release the habits and thoughts that hold me back.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to start working on yourself, well this is it. Don’t wait for January or the “right” time. Start now, even if it’s messy or slow. Every small step forward is still movement toward something better.

Here’s to falling into better habits — and loving ourselves a little more along the way.
