Making It Through the First Few Weeks of the Year

The first few weeks of the year can feel… heavy.
As we talked about previously here – https://youmeandbenny.com/2026/01/15/the-new-year-is-hard-and-thats-okay/

There’s so much pressure wrapped up in January.
New goals.
New habits.
New expectations.
Everywhere you look, someone seems to be thriving, transforming, or already “winning” the year. And if you’re feeling tired, unmotivated, or unsure, it can feel like you’re already behind.

But here’s the truth: making it through the first few weeks of the year is an accomplishment in itself.

This time of year is a transition, not a launchpad. You’re coming off a busy, emotional season. Routines are shifting. The days are shorter. Energy is low. It’s completely normal to need time to find your footing again.

If you’ve shown up, even imperfectly, you’re doing better than you think.

Progress doesn’t always look loud or dramatic. Sometimes progress looks like getting out of bed when you’d rather stay under the covers. It looks like choosing rest when your body asks for it. It looks like taking one small step instead of burning yourself out trying to take ten.

You don’t need to have everything figured out yet. You don’t need a perfectly mapped plan or a picture-perfect morning routine. You just need to keep going, gently, honestly, and at your own pace.

If you’ve stumbled already, that doesn’t mean you failed. It means you’re human. You can restart on any day, at any moment. There is no deadline on growth.

This is your reminder to be kind to yourself. Celebrate the small wins. Give yourself credit for surviving the hard days. Trust that momentum will come, not from forcing it, but from showing yourself grace.

The year is still wide open. You are not behind. You are right where you need to be.

Keep going. You’ve already made it through more than you realize 🤍
