If you’re like me – this time of year can be fun and exciting but also a little depressing.
Seasonal Depression hits me like a ton of bricks when I hardly see the sun.
When I leave for work, it is dark and, and when I get home, it’s dark.
Not fun!
I NEED THE SUN.
I’m the opposite of a vampire – so, like a Human, I guess.
But I definitely have found ways to cope with Seasonal Depression.
AND – not all people have this in the Fall, some people get it at other times of the year – this is just when it hits me, personally.

Sometimes at work, when the sun is out and I can’t see it I make it a point to check in.
I will go into someone’s office and take a look out the window for a few minutes to say hi to the sun, or even go outside a few minutes to get some sun on my face.
I will get up and move around, step at my desk or walk around the building to get my endorphins up a tiny bit because sitting here alllllll day staring at the computer doesn’t help!
I make it a point to check in with myself and see how I am feeling, do I need to watch a funny video to make myself laugh? drink some water? get up and move?
All of these things matter – and it’s just what works best for you.
I do read a lot in the Fall it seems – and that helps to keep my mind active and my creativity flowing. This is the time I love to read cozy, witchy books and it really helps me get that Fall, comfy, feeling.
Here are some of my favorite cozy, witchy books to read! https://youmeandbenny.com/2024/01/11/cozy-witchy-feeling/
There are also light therapy lamps that help!
I have been eyeing this one because it’s cute, affordable, and has really good reviews!

All in all it’s about what works for you – these are just a few suggestions from me and what I do when it’s my time to feel a little SAD.

As always, thanks for being here and I hope to see you soon!
xoxo
